Global Collaboration
PSP-One works to bring a range of stakeholders together around a common objective to increase the role of the private sector in the provision of quality RH/FP and other health products and services. Achieving this objective requires a high degree of collaboration and engagement with donors, PSP IQC holders, cooperating agencies, thought leaders, practitioners and other stakeholders around the world.
PSP-One's global collaboration initiatives are vehicles to engage stakeholders, and leverage collaboration. These initiatives include:
Global Leadership InitiativeQuestion and Answer Forum
PSP-One will host panel discussions periodically in order to identify and adapt state-of-the-art tools, strategies and approaches that should be promoted or scaled up in private sector programming. Panels showcase 5-7 experts in a given technical area, drawn from both health and private/commercial sector communities.
Intended outputs of the panel discussion are collaborative adaptations of existing tools and the identification of any new tools needed.
PSP-One has convened the following panels:
Quality Assurance Panel Discussion: March 3, 2005 in Washington, DC.
Willingness to Pay: From Research to Practice: May 17, 2005 in Washington, DC.
Task Forces
Task Forces are a key component to advancing knowledge and practices in private sector programming. PSP-One task forces will be comprised of 15-20 members drawn from the health and commercial sector communities. They will address long-standing private sector challenges, such as increasing the private sector provision of long-term methods. In addition, task forces will promote the use of proven or promising tools, and will guide the development of new strategies where there is demonstrated need.
Intended outputs of task forces are the collaborative development of research studies, documentation of lessons learned and best practices, strategies and tools, identification of opportunities to implement strategies and best practices collaboratively in the field.
PSP-IQC holders and private sector bilateral projects are invited to participate on task forces. Other interested parties (e.g., other donors and field-based organizations) are invited according to the theme of the task force.
PSP-One's first task force - the Research, Monitoring and Evaluation Task Force - held its first meeting held in November 2004. Other task forces planned for the project are on Clinical Methods and Financial Mechanisms, among other topics.
