Rwanda Affiliated Treatment Centres (ATC)
Targeting private sector clinics and private employers, this project aims to expand access to HIV/AIDS treatment and care in Rwanda by strengthening the private health sector's capacity to provide quality HIV/AIDS treatment services and support initiatives that complement public sector efforts. PharmAccess will train of private clinic medical staff, upgrade private clinics’ laboratory equipment (including procurement of equipment), and monitor quality . In addition, PharmAccess will provide advice to RAMA, the largest insurance company in Rwanda, on the cost of adding an HIV/AIDS component to their current insurance policy. Finally, the project will provide support to APELAS, the Rwandan business coalition against HIV/AIDS which serves as an umbrella organization under the National Commission for the Fight against AIDS (CNLS), in order to encourage the participation of employers in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
