Maximizing the Role of the Private Sector in HIV/AIDS and TB Service Delivery


Abt Associates and speakers from John Snow, Inc., Boston University, and O’Hanlon Health Consulting joined forces for a panel discussion examining the evolving role of the private health sector in delivering HIV/AIDS services.

The expert panel showcased promising approaches and innovations for working with the for-profit-health sector in delivering effective TB and HIV prevention and treatment services.

  • Generating Empirical Evidence, Sara Sulzbach MA, Research Director, Private Sector Partnerships-One project, will examine the state of knowledge about the capacity and future potential of the private sector to deliver HIV/AIDS services.
  • Lessons from Implementing TB and HIV/AIDS Services Through the Private Sector, Gilbert Kombe MD, Senior HIV/AIDS Technical Advisor, Abt Associates, will examine global lessons learned from implementing private sector service delivery in Ethiopia.
  • Moving Towards Partnership, Rich Feeley JD, Boston University, will explore the private sector role in treating AIDS and the policy and regulatory environment framing this role.
