PSP-One N4A Hosts Contracting for Health Services Chat with Dr. Ben Loevinsohn
The PSP-One Network for Africa (N4A) is pleased to announce the first of many online chats with private health sector experts. Given the overwhelming interest expressed at the Addis workshop on how to contract for health services, PSP-One is hosting an online chat with one of the world's premier expert on this topic. Dr. Benjamin Loevinsohn is the Lead Public Health Specialist, South Asia Department for Human Development, Health Nutrition and Population Unit, World Bank. The chat will be held on October 2nd from 8:30 A.M. to 9:30 A.M. Eastern Standard Time (US). This is your opportunity to get answers for any queries you may have about contracting from an expert who combines first-hand practical contracting experience with global knowledge on what contracting strategies have worked well. Feel free to extend this invitation to other colleagues who may be interested in contracting.
Click here to ask Dr. Loevinsohn a question.
Dr. Loevinsohn is one of the architects of a large-scale World Bank-supported performance-based contracting program in Afghanistan that contracts out health service delivery to a mix of international and national non-governmental organizations (NGOs). He has also studied the global experience with contracting for health services and is the author of several publications on contracting, including a recent toolkit that addresses practical concerns on how to contract in developing countries.
To join the chat, or submit questions ahead of time, go to http://discuss.psp-one.com/content/interview/detail/551/. A full record of the chat will be available on the N4A workspace (www.networkforafrica.com) if you are not available during the live chat.
