PSP Zimbabwe Partnership News

The Zimbabwe HIV and AIDS Partnership is an Abt Associates led project that proudly hosted the annual Auxillia Chimusoro Awards on November 29th, 2007.

The Auxillia Chimusoro Award was launched by USAID in 2000 in honor of Auxillia Chimusoro, the first Zimbabwean woman to openly disclose her HIV positive status. Auxillia was a pioneer in HIV prevention efforts and was instrumental in the creation of a number of support groups, and is co-founder of the Zimbabwe National Network of People Living with HIV/AIDS. She is credited for her steadfast courage, strength, and contribution towards demystifying HIV and AIDS before her death in 1998.

Today, the Auxillia Chimusoro Awards recognizes those individuals and organizations who have made significant contributions and progress in addressing HIV/AIDS issues in Zimbabwe.
