Banking on Health Project Launches Training in Nicaragua
On April 18, 2005, the Banking on Health Project launched a series of workshops in Nicaragua to support the National Social Security Institute’s (INSS) efforts to contract out a basic package of primary health care services in the private sector and strengthen reproductive health outcomes. Banking on Health is training over 50 private providers, the social security institute and two banks participating in USAID’s Development Credit Authority program. The training supports improvements in financial management, access to financing, and the promotion of reproductive health outcomes within the contracting out package.
